  32. Tired of the ultra-boring default Workbench look?  Unhappy with the
  33. uniform, colourless MagicWB look?  Think those NewIcons are too slow and
  34. too much inspired by other platforms?  Want to make your Workbench look
  35. prettier and more colourful, but still have that undefinable "Amiga look"? 
  36. If so, then ColourWB might be for you.

  38. What is it?

  40. ColourWB consists of:
  41.  
  42. - a colour scheme, using up to 12 pens
  43. - some tasteful backdrops, best suited for an 800x600 Workbench
  44. - a large set of default icons, for use with e.g. DefIcons (distributed
  45.   together with, but not dependent on NewIcons)
  46. - replacement icons for many Workbench programs
  47. - a set of ToolManager dock icons
  48. - a Helvetica-like fixed width font in 5 point sizes (8,9,10,11,13)
  49. - a *readable* 9-point proportional icon font
  50.  
  51. I have also included a few utilities.  I don't believe in reinventing the
  52. wheel, so these are grabbed from other freely distributable packages:

  54. - ProcurePens (by Joseph Luk, documentation included)
  55. - Random (by Martin Scott, documentation included)
  56.  
  57. I would have liked to include DefIcons and CreateDefIcon too, but you'll
  58. have to get them from aminet:util/wb/NewIcons.lha if you want them.

  60. Apart from ProcurePens, all parts of this package were created by myself,
  61. although I admit to having been inspired by Tom Ekstr÷m's "IconPack", and
  62. also other people for one or two icons.

  65. Requirements
  66. ~~~~~~~~~~~~
  67. Although many parts of this package can be used on any Amiga, Workbench 3.x
  68. and AGA or better would be strongly recommended.  Specifically,
  69.  
  70. - most of the backdrops require a screen with at least 32 colours for best
  71.   results.  I.e., AmigaOS 3.0+ and AGA or a 3rd party gfx card
  72.
